Meet the maker
Former Disney graphic designer, educator, and mom of three creating handwriting resources that help young learners feel capable, not overwhelmed.
Before Pencils and Poppies, I spent years designing professional print materials for one of the world’s most recognized brands: The Walt Disney Company. That work taught me that good design is more than pretty. It should feel clear, intuitive, and genuinely enjoyable to use.
Today, I bring that same care to every resource I create. I begin with the child on the other side of the page: what will help them focus, feel successful, and want to keep going?
As both a parent and educator, I know learning to write can feel exciting for one child and frustrating for another. That’s why my worksheets are clean, intentionally organized, and developmentally appropriate. Less visual clutter means more room for focus, confidence, and progress.
Every page is professionally created from scratch in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, the same industry-standard tools used by major educational publishers. I also create and customize my own handwriting fonts so that each activity supports proper letter formation in a way that feels effective and enjoyable.
Typography, spacing, visual hierarchy, and the amount of work on a page all change how a child experiences learning. I thoughtfully craft every resource to be both beautiful and functional, so parents, teachers, homeschool families, and tutors can spend less time sorting through materials and more time supporting their learners.
I live in Newport Beach, California, where I’m raising my three children and finding fresh inspiration in the everyday moments of parenthood. My goal is simple: create high-quality educational resources families can trust, while helping children build the confidence they’ll carry into every next step of learning.
Supporting a small business means so much to my family. I’m honored to be a small part of your child’s educational journey.
